I am a web developer who lives and works in San Diego, California. I enjoy making web apps and hacking on open source hardware projects. I am also a licensed attorney with a specialization in intellectual property.

  • Flexible Software Development : In my career I develop fast and responsive single page apps that launch from the desktop and are nearly as robust as native applications. I also develop Android apps and embedded systems for fun.

  • Juris Doctor with an Intellectual Property specialization from The University of San Diego School of Law. Emphases on open source licensing for software and hardware startups. I was also part of the USD Mock Trial Team.
  • 5+ years managing a 500,000 record SQL database. Drafting and implimenting quality control processes. Was part of several data migration projects.

HTML & CSS

  • Writing clean markup and reusable styles.

  • Staying up to date on new HTML5/CSS3 features and support.

Javascript

  • Experience writing both modular and object oriented code.
  • Familiar with most libraries and frameworks. Including jQuery, Backbone.js and Angular.js.
  • Proficient in Node.js for back-end development.
  • Proficient with JSON and JSON based databases like MongoDB or CouchDB.

  • Final paper in law school was on Open Source Licensing for hardware start-up companies.
  • Experience drafting NDAs.
  • Experience working with a patent prosecution team.
  • Accomplished at streamlining existing workflows and documenting efficient best practices.
